🌾 Devlog #1 — The Withering Fields: First Sprouts

The world of The Withering Fields is slowly coming to life.
This is a story about a forgotten valley where nature and technology intertwine in the struggle against an ancient blight. The player’s task is to cleanse the land, rebuild the farm, and uncover what remains of a once-living world — step by step, bringing it back to life.

Development is moving steadily forward. Right now, I’m focusing on the game’s core systems:

  • cleansing and restoring infected zones;

  • building structures and basic farming mechanics;

  • the first prototypes of assistant golems that will do some of the most interesting work for you and support life on earth.;

  • as well as the user interface, crafting systems, and the structure of the world.

The current goal is a very early alpha demo scheduled for January 2026. This will be the first public building where players will be able to try out the basics of Desiccating Fields: clearing, building, resource management and the first golems. This is still a very early version, purely to test the mechanics and get some feedback from the players.

Actually, I'm still writing this diary for myself, but if anyone is reading this, then thank you very much.

New updates are coming soon! In the following blogs, I will talk about the infection system, the visual elements of the environment, and the progress of golem development. Now I have more free time, so I hope to consistently post something every 2 weeks.
