Intro

# 🌱 Devlog #1 — The land begins to breathe

Hey there!

I’m an indie developer, and this is the very first devlog for **The Withering Fields** — a post-apocalyptic game where farming, cleansing, combat and forgotten technology meet on scorched ground.

I’ve long wanted to create a world where you don’t just fight or build — you **restore**.

A place where every step forward **heals** a world that was once lost.

**The Withering Fields** is about:

- surviving after the collapse

- cleansing corrupted soil

- awakening guardian golems

- growing life where there was none

- and building something truly worth protecting

---

## ⚙️ So what is this game, really?

It’s *not quite a farming sim*, and *not quite a survival game*.

It’s a blend of:

- 🌿 top-down pixel action with cleansing combat

- 🌱 tile-by-tile world restoration

- ⚔️ bullet hell–style fights against infected monsters

- 🧪 tech-magic crafting and research

- 🤖 golems that protect reclaimed zones

- 🏚️ a central farm base that grows as you heal the land

The world is split into large, explorable zones — quarries, ruined tech-fields, haunted forests, riverbanks — all overtaken by corruption. Every reclaimed area brings new systems, resources, and upgrades.

---

## 📖 Why devlogs?

Because I want this game to grow **openly** — from sketch to demo.

These devlogs will share:

- my progress and decisions

- behind-the-scenes visuals

- and the thoughts that shape *The Withering Fields* as it evolves

---

## 📸 And now — the logo

It’s simple. But it says everything I want:

> ⚙️🌱

> A gear. A sprout.

> Decay meets growth.

![

This icon will represent the project — in-game, on the page, and everywhere else it travels.

---

Thanks for reading — this is just the beginning.

If you want to follow the journey:

- 🔔 subscribe to the project

- 💬 drop a comment

- or just come back soon

Let’s reclaim something together.
